Nic and Kate Off to Germany

After spending a great week with Nic and Kate in Atlanta we had to see them off to Germany.  They flew out of Atlanta early this morning, although they were scheduled to leave last night.  Their flight was delayed about 5 hrs, but they finally got out and made it to London.  In London they managed to get on a flight to Hamburg.  However they arrived without their luggage.  It didn't make the short layover in London.  Hopefully it arrives early tomorrow morning.

They arrived at their temporary living quarters around 6:30 pm local time.  We were able to talk to them for awhile before they headed to bed to get some needed rest!

We will miss them, but have established several communication links and all family members are planning on spending some time with them in Germany.  Nic and Kate are hoping to come back for a week during the 4th of July holiday.  We are hoping Kate's family is able to join all of us in Atlanta.  It would be a fun time!

And we all have tentative plans to spend Christmas 2010 in Hamburg Germany!

Christmas Vacation

Nate's Christmas vacation in Atlanta comes to an end today.  He flies back to Des Moines via Chicago.  Hoping all of his flights are on time and he gets back into Des Moines safely tonight.
It was great to have him here for Christmas and to spend a few days.  We had a great time.  Played some golf up at The Cliffs and once at St. Marlo in Duluth, GA.  Nate got to test out those new clubs he got for Christmas.  I think a little practice and some warmer weather and he will be hitting them good.
We had a lot of fun while he was here and the time went by way too fast.
Now we will look forward to Nic and Kate's visit starting January 1st.  And to our next chance to spend more time with Nate.

Nate's Visit Approaching!

We are looking forward to Nate's visit.  He will be flying in from Des Moines, IA on Tuesday evening.  He will get to stay until Sunday.

No big plans, but hope to play around of golf with Nate at the Cliff's, maybe on Wednesday.  Christmas day will be at home, relaxing, playing some games, and opening a present or two.  Then that evening we will be joining some friends for dinner at their place.

Tuesday it will be "Welcome home Nate!".

Nic and Kate's Grand Adventure Begins

Today they moved out of their apartment in Tucson, AZ.  Their belongings were packed this past Wednesday and today they packed their remaining items into their car and headed to Denver, CO.  They will spend a couple of days with Kate's sister Ali in Denver and then on Tuesday they will head to Lincoln, NE.  In Lincoln they will spend Christmas with Kate's family.

On Jan 1st they will fly from Omaha to Atlanta to spend some time with us before they head of to their new home in Hamburg, GR.

We are all looking forward to spending some time with Nic and Kate over the holidays!

Hamburg Germany

The first week of January 2010 Nic and Kate will be moving to Hamburg Germany where they will spend the next three years.  It should be a fun time and will offer an opportunity for them to tour Europe and experience many new things.
